How To Create Your Own Information Products Fast
Jul 16
I’m sure you already know by now that if you want to make more money online you need to be creating your own information products.
Creating your own products doesn’t have to be difficult and time consuming as there are lots of different ways that you can speed up the product creation process.
Here’s six different ways to create your own information products fast:
1. Interview an expert. Find someone in your niche that is knowledgeable about a subject and ask them if you can interview them. You could ask them some questions on Skype, record the interview and then have it transcribed into a text document .
2. Use other peoples articles. Head over to ezinearticles.com and take a look at all of the quality articles that you have at your disposal. You will find a wide range of articles on every topic you can think of that you can compile into an ebook. Take about ten articles that are written to a high standard, write an introduction and a closing paragraph and with only a little effort required on your part, you have an information product that you can sell.
3. Pay someone to create it. If you haven’t got the time to do any of the other suggestions on this list but still would like a product of your own, then why not outsource the whole project. There are many skilled ghostwriters that you could hire on a freelance basis to create it for you. Elance.com and getafreelancer.com are good places to start or ask on your favourite forums for recommendations from the other members.
4. Use Private Label Rights content. When you have a product that comes with private label rights it has already been created for you – so you don’t have to. You just edit the details as you wish, add your own links inside and put your name on as the author. You can have your own information product online in a matter of hours.
5. Use your blog posts. Don’t just write them and then forget about them. Grab together some of your blog posts that are on a similar subject and compile them together to make an ebook that you could sell or a short report that you can giveaway to build your mailing list.
6. Ask your online friends. If you have been online for a while you probably already know lots of people that would be willing to answer a question for you that you could put into an ebook. Go to your favourite forum and have a good luck round. Is there a copywriter on there, maybe a graphic designer or a ghostwriter. Chances are that there will be many people with many different skills and experiences that would be willing to help you out. Ask one question to ten different forum members and voila, you have an information product of your own created in no time at all.
So there you go…
I’ve just given you six different ways of creating an information product fast. Now all you need to do is take action and get started.

I love that product of yours!

Hi Dawn, nice to see you on the challenge!
I agree that your own product is essential, I have received products from a few giveaways recently and one big thing I noticed is how many of exactly the same product is offered by different people. If anyone uses plr they should edit it to make it their own, change the title, change the graphics. Of course all that costs money, but if you don’t it will the same as the other 1200 people who bought it are offering.
Great post, thanks.
Enjoy the journey.

@Mandy Allen,
Hi Mandy
Totally agree with you on that score you need to re-write the Plr and make it your own but unfortunately 95% of people that use Plr to create their own products just stick their name on it and sell it as it is.
They would make more sales if they spent a few hours of their time making alterations and adding a little.
Thanks for commenting and good luck with the challenge

Hi Dawn, I’ve just finished my first eBook. Sorry, i finished the eBook ages ago i’ve just finished the sales page.
It took me a long time to pull my finger out and get working on it. To be honest i joined the Masterclass and done it that way. For all to long i doubted my writing skills, but once you start it’s quite easy to type away.
I liked your guide and am really pleased that you included the link to your membership site. I like what i see and will be popping back to read more.
PLR is a very good way to get going as long as you make the product unique by changing the graphics and title.
I’m glad that you have joined the challenge Dawn and hope to get to know you better, which we will as soon as i join your membership site, salespages included really is a big deal in my eyes.

Hi Dawn!
These are some really good ways to create products. You could smoosh them all together and make an awesome product with an ebook, audio, video and maybe even a checklist if it’s a how-to or a questionnaire or something if it’s not. Better value, higher price.
Another thing is to write the sales page first….Then when your sales page is so good you want to buy it yourself, you can write the book because you will know what to put in it!!
Hope you have a wonderful day!

Hi Dawn,
You had pretty much covered the best 6 menthods for anyone who want to create an e-product fast.
The missing part will be the action that me, as a reader should choose to take. 2 quick questions though….
In your opinion, out of the 6 methods you shared here, which is your favorite?
I particularly am interested in making an audio interview product in the near future, but was afraid that my accent may be a hindrance to me if I do a live interview?
Any suggestion you can give for a non-native English speaker like me?
Thanks in advance?

Hi Jason
I really think all 6 are good ways of getting a product online fast but I use mainly number 4 PLR content.
I wouldnt let your accent put you off creating an audio interview as you could always do a few trial runs first before you go live with the interview.
It would also probably help if your first interview was with someone you already know to put you at ease – a fellow forum member perhaps.
My friend Sally Neill has just wrote a blog post on the steps needed to create your first audio interview you can read all about it here:

Hi Dawn
I hope you are well
For me the hardest part of product creation was meeting my own high standards…a lot of people say it’s best to just get a bunch of stuff out there and improve on it at a later date…but I prefer the quality over quantity approach.
Using PLR is a great way to get started…if it’s only used as a template for you to put your own ‘mark’ on…and then add video, audio etc…anything that makes you stand out and shows ‘quality’
I also used to worry about how long my product should be…but having seen all the fluff filled ebooks out there I would much rather stick with a short ‘eBook’ (or coaching manual as I refer to them these days ) which is of high quality and straight to the point.
And I couldn’t agree with you more, which ever method you choose…you do need to take action.
See you soon Dawn

Thank you Dawn. I am only few days new to the IM, and these are very good knowledge for me to learn at the first stage. At the moment, I would like to write the articles by myself and after I slowly compile all the info together I can try to outsource for ghostwriter. But since now I just started my own blog and I am not english native speaker, so I was wonderring should I have 2 languages in my blog ? or should I go with english site first? May I have your opinions, Dawn?

Hi Dawn,
Very helpful post to anybody who is getting stuck thinking that it’s too much to start creating their own products.
Out of all the tips I’m not sure I’d go for using Ezine articles for an ebook. The authors links need to be left there in order to give them credit and abide by the rules. That would be a lot of links in an ebook that would be of other people’s.
Otherwise everything is great.

4, Ensure you use fresh content and not old PLR which has been out for months, even years. If you must rewrite it all. Plug: PlrMonthly.com
5, Awesome advice Dawn and one so many guys forget about. piece your posts together, add a bit, take a bit away and you have a ready made product. Great!

Hi Dawn,
There are some great tips for creating products. Many marketers get a little scared when they want to create a product and look for perfection everytime.
Just get out there and get it done. Learn from your previous creations. Also doing a little research to find what products to create. Look at Amazon and see what the most popular books are. Check ebay out and see what the hottest products are.
This will give you some idea on what to get started on.

Perhaps I could just rip off some PLR and make a product, however I found that often, they are either so vague or badly written that it would be quicker to do the work with a clean page.
Plus as I am currently writing a guide to facebook, half the stuff written online no longer applies!
Will have to try these ideas again.

Product creation is a nightmare, esp. for newbies until you start doing it and get use to developing info products regularly.
The first 2 techniques are very good and very effective. However getting interview would mean to develop a relationship with folks, which can take a long time to happen and also to get their time for an interview scheduled. Whereas the reference to ezine for creating your products will work for newbies – atleast give them a good start.
Thanks for sharing this info.

Hi Dawn,
Yes I agree with you. By creating your own information product (either for list building or selling the product) is the way to succeed online. The 6 ways you are mentioning on this blog post are excellent! However most newbies face difficulties on this. I used to be too! I remember when I was a newbie and learnt these ways a few years ago; I was procrastinating and finding excuses all the time for example:
1. Interview an expert? “How am I going to find someone to interview? If so, will he have the time to do it with a newbie like me?..”
2. Use other people’s articles from different article directories? “My information product will not have value because anyone can just visit these websites and find the information there..”
3. Pay someone to create it? “No way! It will cost me too much money..”
4. Use Private Label Rights content? “Yes but I have to edit it at least 70% and most PLR are junk anyway. Isnt it?..”
5. Use your blog posts? “But I don’t have a blog! I will not start blogging anyway until I will be making $10,000 so creating an information product fast with this way can take too looong time!”
6. Ask your online friends? “I will have to make a million questions if I want to collect enough content. Also I will have to ask the permission from everyone.. Isn’t it?”
These are some of the -negative- thoughts that were crossing through my mind in the past. All these thoughts let me behind and from having my own information products! I really regret it now since I know that creating your own products is the ways to success!
All 6 ways are really the easiest and the fastest! You can also combine all 6 ways for your information product if you want to.
But most newbies are making it look like its something impossible to do like I did in the past! Like you said Dawn all you need to do is take action and get started!
Take care,
Andreas

Hi Dawn,
Great post.
There is no doubt the fastest way is to locate an expert, then write the sales letter.
In fact many write the sales letter afterwards but this is a recipe for a disaster.
So assuming 2-3 weeks have been spent writing a great sales letter the next stage is the easiest, namely interviewing the expert.
Knowing the questions is easy because you have already written the sales letter.
So totally agree an audio product where you interview an expert is the quickest way to create your own information product.
All the best.
Kind Regards
Andy

Hi Dawn,
Your post gives many ideas how you can create your own product.
Research often helps you become an expert in any field rather quickly. We often assume people know more than they actually do.
Being bold helps more people than we think.

Hi Dawn,
I finally got here!
Have been a little busy with a little challenge a bimbo comment of mine created! Oops on that one!
I love the idea of number 2!! Using Ezine articles! What an excellent idea for creating a freebie giveaway related to your niche or as a bonus. I was asked the other day about creating a brandable freebie for my spray tanning product. The thought of writing more content at the moment is “no not really’, however finding articles and collating them as a book. Now that is doable!
Thank you for the hints!
Hope the challenge has been keeping you busy. I am hoping everyone comments on everyone’s blogs so we all complete the challenge together, although somehow I am a little concerned it won’t happen by the end of the month!
See you back here soon!
Cheers
Jacinta

Hi Dawn,
First of all, it’s nice to meet you. You have created a very nice tutorial on creating a product that is short and to the point. I like that, especially since I am trying to complete the 100 blog challenge and have a ways to go.
You have a very nice looking site that is clutter free and very easy to navigate. I look forward to stopping by again soon to pick up some pointers.
Thank you,
Mark

Hello Dawn, Your blog is fantastic and the article is an excellent read. Each tip that you shared is very useful and especially the first – interview an expert. That’s something I’ve been wanting to do for awhile now. I just haven’t sat down and conjured up a clear topic and the dozen or so good interview questions to go with it. But I must, so I shall. Good luck in the challenge and be well, Steve D.
