Is your blog Pinterest friendly?

Pinterest Tutorial: Is your blog Pinterest friendlyI’ve been using Pinterest for a few months now…

Mainly pinning other peoples CONTENT that’s helped me to do something and that I KNOW other people will find useful too.

One thing that I have noticed while I’m blog hopping though is that some blogs ARE Pinterest friendly and other blogs are NOT!

Which is so sooooooooo crazy because Pinterest is referring MORE traffic than You Tube, Google Plus and LinkedIn combined.

Find out if  YOUR blog is Pinterest friendly by watching my video below…..

And if you want to grab the fab FREEBIE that I mentioned in the video that will show you HOW to make images to put in your posts…

You can get Essential WordPress Plugins here.

Hope this helps and have a fandabidozy day!

Dawn

  1. Hi Dawn
I recently joined Pinterest, but haven’t had time to do anything with it yet. Took me ages to get my photo sorted cos it wouldn’t load on Twitter. Finally got it sorted.
I am in the middle of a blog makeover and have lost all my sociable buttons! I am also trying to get 2 posts done but will get around to it and will come back and watch the video again.

  3. Hi Dawn
Dunno where they went. Need to check my plug ins. Could be my blog is too wide, had them down the side.
Got the post done on my other blog so when I have finished the post for this one, will try to sort it out.

  4. Hi Dawn,

Another great video and right on topic :)

I’ve just joined Pinterest after receiving numerous invites i felt it was time to start using them. Especially as it is generating so much traffic for people, after all free resources need tapping into don’t they….

The only board i have set up so far is one for the challenge participants and all of the videos they’ve submitted.

Stupid me, Just added your details then come her and see that i could’ve done it right from here :( derrrrr, well it is Sunday and here I am at the PC ;)

I wonder who it was you didn’t shame…. I know it wasn’t me as I do love an image….. normally of myself ha ha.

Thanks Dawn, I’ve now added this post to the video blog challenge page on my blog.

Have a great week Dawn, take care.

  5. Hi Dawn,

You are mad aren’t you!? :-)

Well, there you go, I actually came here today directly from Barry’s Video Blog Challenge board on Pinterest.

I do like Pinterest, but I did have some problems trying to pin using the button on my tool bar. Perhaps it wasn’t me but that the odd site wasn’t Pinterest friendly. I must remember to ‘Pin’ more often and I do need to put a button on my blog as well.

    Thanks Dawn

    Hey Julie

Well that’s proof that it works then if you came here from Pinterest.

It’s good to see more of my buds on there because I was feeling kind of lonely on my own (ha ha)

Sometimes with browser extensions they’re a bit iffy and if you install them again they work no probs.

So give it another try because like you said it might of been something else.

I’m coming your way soon so if you aint got a pin it button on your blog then your gonna get a slap (lol)

And yes I’m slightly mad ha ha

    Catch ya later

  6. Hey Hey Hey Chick :D

Ok, I set up an account and I have my lil pin it button on my toolbar now, simple to use… just need to remember and click it – will add your video to my cool videos :)

Had a lil fun half hour adding some of my own pins and boards etc, it’s very user friendly, nice and clean and kinda fun too.

Nice site – I like it – but like anything… i wont be spending hours on there but at least I have a presence on it, I like to be seen EVERYWHERE lol.

    C ya later alligator, Sally :) x

    Hey Misses

Yep Pinterest is fab but it can be a bit addictive too so you gotta get in, do your stuff and then get the heck out of their quick…

Otherwise you’ll end up looking at all the lovely mini pickys that I know will catch your eye (lol)

(My landrover will kick your mini’s butt in a race any day) ha ha

Glad you finally got on there and I’ll be over to your blog soon to see if you’ve done the other thing I recommended and if you haven’t – a Dawny slap is coming your way (ha ha)

  8. I think this video will help a lot of people who aren’t really familiar with how they can benefit from Pinterest yet.

I’ve got my pin on my browser and of course plenty of images and videos that people can pin. Right now I have a board for blogs I follow and like so I’m hoping to start seeing more traffic from that as well.

It hasn’t been long enough yet to actually do a stat check but I’m thinking that here in a couple more weeks, I should hope to start seeing more traffic from Pinterest. I’m keeping my fingers crossed Dawn.

Thanks for the video, great job! What a natural pro you’ve become in such a short time I might add. :-)

  10. Hi Dawn…I watched your video last night and joined Pinterest today. At least I have an account and filled out the details, but haven’t figured out what to do yet to get my graphics on there.

    I’ll get deeper later tonight.

I have a new site that I am working on most of the time…www.KitchenBlogging.com. It’s online and has some of the tabs full of free recipes and $1 recipe ebooks.

Check it out when you have time. Your blog is very interesting.

  11. Dawn,

    Great post on Pinterest.

I get so frustrated when I go to a post and want to pin it but, there is no image so I can’t.

Really people should be using images on their posts anyway. There are those who do not and text just does not work.

I love Pinterest and try to pin as many of the posts I go to as I can.

    Have a great weekend.

  12. Great video that I’ve shared on my ‘Pinteresting’ Pinterest board. I’m new to Pinterest but loving it. I get highly frustrated when pages aren’t pinnable. I’m currently working with the web dev team at work to see how we can make hundreds of thousands of teaching resources we share pinnable as they currently aren’t and it’s criminal!

Thanks for sharing. I’ll bookmark your blog for future gems.

  13. Wow, I had no idea what Pinterest was until this post. It sounds great! I know that I will be utilizing this source in the future.

There are so many social media and social bookmarking sites that are incredibly useful (and many more that I do not know about now). Since the web is slowly starting to transition into integrating social media into just about everything, I think that it is extremely important to utilize all the social media website and social bookmarking sites you can.

    Thank you for your post!

  14. Hi Dawn,

Thanks – I’ve been wondering about this so thank you!!

I finally got the Pin it button on my blog, I found another plugin just for Pinterst so that it wouldn’t interfere with the current plugin I use :)

    Anyway, super video Dawn!

  15. Hi Dawn,

Terrific video; a real education! I really must look at Pinterest more closely now and get more involved!

Thank goodness my site is Pinterest Friendly otherwise it wouldn’t have looked good would it. Thanks for high-lighting my blog Dawn :)

Just updated my digg digg to include the “Pin it” before you noticed it Dawn!

I must admit was surprised when you mentioned the stats; that Pinterest brings in more referrals than YouTube, LinkedIn and Google + combined!

Thanks for sharing great content Dawn and again the video was excellent – a natural pro now!

Have a great week, catch up again soon

  17. Hey Dawn…

Great post on Pinterest… I wanted to know how did you get the Pinterest Button on the right, lined up with with Linkedin, Google+1 and iTunes?

Is that a plugin or just some code placed in a text widget? Where can I get that and how can I do that on my site?
