Small Lists Can Get Results Too…Yayyy

If anyone ever tells you that you need a MASSIVE LIST to make affiliate sales then they’re talking a load of rubbish.
How do I know???
Because I got my very first affiliate sale from an EMAIL that I’d sent out recently and I only have a list of around 300.
Whoooooooooooo0oooooooooo!!!
Boy did it feel good and then I got Another and Another and I was absolutely BUZZZZZZING I tell ya 
Soooo what did I promote ???
Well as you know I’m on Sally Neill’s coaching program Learn With Sally
So when Sally told us on the webinar that she was going to release THE REPLAYS to her coaching, I knew I had to tell the world because…
- It’s a FANTASTIC product
- The results I’ve ACHIEVED since been on it are AMAZING
- It’s the BEST product I’ve everrrrrrrr bought
So what did I do ???
1) First thing I did was email Sally and asked her if I could have a BONUS for people that bought through my link.
She kindly agreed and I was able to offer an invitation to a LIVE WEBINAR with Sally that was EXCLUSIVE and couldn’t be found anywhere else.
Other ideas for bonuses you could have…
- Create your own that COMPLIMENTS the product your promoting
- Offer email help and support
- Ask the product owner for an INTERVIEW and offer interview as bonus
- Give away one of your paid products or services
2) The next thing I did was I sent an email out to my list to let them know that Sally was releasing the replays soon and that I would be offering a bonus.
- Catchy email title (to get more people to open)
- Add curiosity
- Ask them to look out for email
3) I then created a video with me in front of the camera (more personal). Shared what I’d ACHIEVED since taking part in Sally’s coaching and announced my bonus.
Other stuff I did:
- Researched keywords for You Tube – Googles keyword tool for You Tube
- Uploaded my video to You Tube
- Added my keywords in my You Tube title, description and tags
4) When the product went live I published a blog post about it, added my video and then sent an email out to my list asking them to visit my BLOG…

- Catchy email title (with what’s in it for them)
- Offered an INCENTIVE to buy (first 2 people got 50% BACK from me)
- Sent them to my BLOG and not to the sales-page (more personal)
- Shared my results (proof that it works and I USE THE PRODUCT myself)
5) Then it was all about getting AS MUCH TRAFFIC as I could back to my blog post so that everyone could see it.
- Google Plus
- You Tube
- Blog hopped – (grab Sally’s free Blog Hopping ebook here)
- Wisestamp signature
- Social bookmarking – IM Automator and Social Monkee
- Facebook fan page
Now this was the first time I’d actually promoted a product full on before so I was REALLY REALLY pleased with my results…
And to top it all Sally told us live on the webinar that I was actually her FIRST AFFILIATE to get her a sale…
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
That made me really happy and I got a nice warm fuzzy feeling inside (lol)

And if you build a relationship with your list and only promote products that are HIGH quality and that you USE YOURSELF…
Then there’s no reason why you can’t outdo the gurus that have lists 10 or 20 times the size of yours.

Thanks, I have haven’t I and it’s all down to Sally’s coaching and taking the right action instead of doing what I was doing and been a busy fool (lol)
The kids think its fab that mums now on You Tube and that I know all this cool stuff…
Plus I can help James with his powerpoint presentations he has to do for homework so he aint complaining (lol).

Congratulations on making sales from your “Small” list. It’s a great feeling isn’t it.
Your whole approach has been fantastic Dawn and this post detailing how you acheived those sales is a lesson to us all.
You’re so right; we don’t need a huge list to make money from it, all we need is the right approach from start to finish.
As you’ve detailed here you started the process way before sending out the promotion email (not that i got one
).

Great post; the way you have detailed the whole process from start to finish is a plan anyone could follow and it’s a great lesson for all of us – well done.
The first video you did (sharing your results) was good, but this second one (Sally Neill Coaching Tour) is brilliant – Loved it Dawn.
You have really shown us all that you do not need a huge list to promote and sell to, to get results.

Awww thanks for the lovely comments and I am getting better at the videos but I don’t find them easy cause I hate listening to my own voice…
For some reason I sound like a right girly in places and my voice is a bit high pitched (lol).
To be honest I didn’t want to write this post because I didn’t want people to think I was bragging (which I’m not)…
But Sally told me it was important that I shared my results as it details my journey and shows people you don’t need a big list to make money…
Which you don’t!

Yes, I agree with Ian, great post outlining the steps you took. I do remember my first sale from an email and it was the day we were all first at Randy’s meet up. I’d never made a sale from an email til then! Great feeling.

Concentrate on building relationships and the sales will come in.

Wow Dawn, congratulation on those sales. Way to go girl! You are a learning machine and the best part is, you are applying what you’ve learned and now sharing with others how to do the same thing. That’s fabulous.
I have no doubt Sally’s coaching program is great. I’m sure that anyone who takes what she teaches and takes action will have success as well.
I remember when I made my first sale and I didn’t have a list back then. So I know that exciting feeling you get but you are right. You don’t need to have a large list to make some money. What you do need to have is a list that you build relationships with and then they will be interested in what you have to offer. Your list is getting the attention it deserves.

I was like you and decided when I got myself a coach I was going to get out of my comfort zone, try new things and do everything that I was told to do…
I think doing in front of camera videos on your blog really helps to build relationships with your readers as they get to see the face behind the blog…
So I’m really REALLY pleased that I faced that fear and I’m glad you liked them.

It is not the small list, it is your willingness to do it that made everything possible. I think that’s the biggest benefit you’ve gained from Sally Coaching. It is being able to muster your forces and do what you have to do. From what I remember, you shared with us (in your post Not Bad But Needs Work)how Sally encourage and help you all the time.
