‘Terrifier 2’ Adds $1.2M Weekend for $10M Box Office Total!

Horror is currently dominating the box office, with Bloody Disgusting’s own Terrifier 2 scaring up $10 million since its original release one month ago. And that’s just the start, as two other Halloween releases just smashed through big milestones at the box office.

First up, Parker Finn’s Smile has now laughed its way to $202.9 million worldwide, the film released in theaters on September 30 and legging its way through the entire Halloween season. The reported production budget for Smile was a mere $17 million, which means that Paramount Pictures has a MASSIVE hit on their hands with the buzzy original horror title.

Smile has made $99.1 million of its total here in the United States, with $103 million coming from the international box office to date. Congrats to Parker Finn and the whole team!

Another horror movie that’s still in the domestic Top 10 is David Gordon Green’s Halloween Endswhich has to date scared up $63.4 million domestically and $39.4 million internationally.

That brings the worldwide total for Halloween Ends up to $102.9 million as of this writing, and that’s with the third installment in this trilogy also being available on Peacock at home.

For the sake of comparison, Halloween Kills slashed up $133.4 million last year in theaters, with that movie also released day-and-date in theaters and on Peacock as well.

The most important thing? All three horror movies mentioned here – Terrifier 2, Smileand Halloween Ends – are profitable, so horror wins all around this Halloween and beyond!

The only thing left to do is SMILE…
