SERI ISKANDAR: Armed with high commitment and enthusiasm, a student of Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) has established an application development service company that generated an income of RM30,000 after a year of operation.Daniel Yusoff Mustaffa, 21, a Chancellor’s Gold Award recipient who has obtained the Dean’s Certificate Award every semester, is now collaborating with Maxis Broadband Sdn Bhd to produce technology to control pests in rice fields. “My interest in managing a business arose because I was very interested and skilled in the field of Technology Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) applications, and from there I developed many application systems for the virtual world.

“Through the knowledge I gained here, I registered my business and now, Alhamdulillah, business is growing,” he said when met after the 22nd convocation of UTP near here. The young man from Kajang, Selangor said that juggling time as a student and a young entrepreneur was not easy but one needed to be brave to take risks in order to realize their dreams. “I admit that it is not easy to focus on two things at the same time, but what is important is time management between studying and doing business because if we are smart everything will be easy. “I always remember my late mother’s advice to continue to excel in academics, besides my sister who is also a source of inspiration for success,” he said.
